How to stay connected to streamyx
Streamyx is a high speed and ‘always on’ Internet ceonnection with speed from 384kbps to 4.0Mbps that offers cost-saving unlimited connection at a flat monthly rate.Howeever if you encounter difficulties in accessing the network, it could be due to simple reasons that you are able to rectify on your own.
Here is a simple Streamyx connection checklist for you to go through before you call TM contact centre at 100 for assistance
- Ensure that your line has a dial tone. Check your phone cable to see if it is property plugged in.
- Ensure that your phone is in good working condition and you are able to make and receive calls.
- Ensure that your bill payment is up to date and “FA Reminder” is included in your latest bill. Otherwise your account may have been suspended due non-payment. Settle your outstanding ballance at the nearest TMpoint for reactivation of the service.
- Check your modem:
- It is switched “ON”,
- The “DSL” Light is a steadily light not blinking.
- The “LAN” light is “ON”, If not, check your LAN connection is “enabled” or you may need to replace your physicical Network Interface Card (NIC) or LAN Connection Card.
- If you still can’t access the internet, try connecting your modem directly to teh wall socket,bypassing the splitter,microfilter,router or any related equipment in between. If the DSL light becomes stable,then the problemn may be due to your internal wiring that connects to the PC.
When to call for assistance
- If there is no dial tone on your phone line.
- If your modem “DSL” light is “OFF” or blinking. Note the pop-up error number or message on your computer, if any.
- If your modem “DSL” light is stable but tehere is still no connection to the internet.
